Good news! Today the NSW Government has announced plans to protect our blue backyard with a Sydney Marine Park! Thanks to thousands of people like you speaking up, we are much closer to protecting our beautiful marine life and coastal lifestyle.

The plans released today are a draft proposal and over the next six weeks the government will be seeking feedback from people like you. It’s so important that you and I continue to speak up during this time to ensure the draft plans give our marine life the protection they deserve. We’ll be in touch soon with how you can have your say.

These plans couldn’t come soon enough. Our local marine life and our way of life is under increasing threat from coastal development, fishing pressure, pollution and climate change, yet less than 1% of our region is protected.

Finally, our chance has arrived to ensure this marine park provides the highest level of protection possible for our marine life.

This comes after years of community action and thousands of people like you speaking up for our marine life - so thank you for all that you’ve done to get us this close.
